We visited The Devonshire Arms for a romantic dinner, and we’re so glad we did. The service was outstanding—the staff were polite, attentive, and made us feel very safe despite the current circumstances. We started with the sharing meat board, which came with beetroot and chutney—it was honestly the best starter I’ve ever had, with all the flavours complementing each other perfectly. For our main course, we chose the duck leg with creamy mash, and it was another highlight: beautifully tender and delicious. Dessert was equally impressive. We tried the treacle tart with vanilla ice cream, and the dark chocolate torte paired with espresso ice cream—both were divine. If only we lived closer, this place would definitely become our regular spot!

We went here for Mothers Day 30th March 2025 . It was absolutely amazing , we had the stables room all to ourselves. There was 12 of us , the food was beautiful it all came hot and was amazing , the puddings were amazing I had the cinnamon doughnuts with ice cream that I really recommend. The service was also amazing. Nothing was too much trouble . Drinks kept coming, and the staff were kind and so helpful. Well done, Devonshire Arms. You made what was a first Mothers Day without my mum, a pleasure. Honestly, I haven't had a roast like it surrounded by the people I love. We will definitely be back

Just had lunch here for the first time in a few years and it was exceptional. The venison was cooked to perfection and the sole apparently was ‘the best’. All of the portions were generous and beautifully presented. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Leave room for pudding as they too were also delicious. Very good value for a high quality experience.
